It depends on the certification as to the length of validity. The ISTQB Foundation Level certificate is valid for life, the ISTQB Advanced Level certification is valid for 3 years and the Expert Level is 5 years. After the initial 5 years, you can extend for another 5 years. There is no limit to the number of times that a certification can be extended.
